Find Your Best Texture Match

The best match starts with your natural hair.

I match texture by looking at clean, air-dried natural hair and comparing it to the ends of each extension texture for the closest blend.

The easiest blend usually comes from matching the texture your hair actually has—not necessarily the texture you wish it had.

Let’s find the best place to start.

A few thoughtful questions

I’ll help you narrow it down.

Answer based on your clean, air-dried hair—not the curl pattern you wish it had or the way it looks after styling.

Five ways to find your match

Choose the texture that looks most like your hair.

Compare each option to clean, air-dried natural hair. The closest match—not simply the curl pattern you wish you had—usually creates the easiest, most natural blend.

Woman wearing 4C Coily K-Tips01

4C Coily

4C Coily K-Tips

Compact, defined coils with the fullness and spring of naturally coily hair. Natural Color/1B.

Best for clean, air-dried hair with a dense, tightly coiled texture.

100% human hair. It can be heat styled, but the most natural blend and easiest maintenance come from wearing it in its natural curl pattern.

Heat styling may temporarily loosen the curl pattern. This texture is not intended to create a permanently sleek, silky-straight finish.

If you plan to wear it straighter most of the time, consider ordering a longer length. This allows the ends to be lightly trimmed after repeated heat styling while preserving your desired finished length.

Looser Than 4C K-Tips

Soft, defined curls with airy volume and natural movement from root to end. Natural Color/1B.

Best for clean, air-dried hair with looser coils or small, defined curls.

100% human hair. It can be heat styled, but the most natural blend and easiest maintenance come from wearing it in its natural curl pattern.

Heat styling may temporarily loosen the curl pattern. This texture is not intended to create a permanently sleek, silky-straight finish.

Woman wearing Straight K-Tips03

Straight

Straight K-Tips

The smoothest texture offered, with a sleek finish and natural movement. Natural Color/1B.

Ideal for naturally straight or chemically straightened hair.

100% human hair. This is the best starting point when your everyday texture is consistently smooth and straight.

Woman wearing Kinky Straight K-Tips04

Kinky Straight

Kinky Straight K-Tips

Mimics freshly blown-out or stretched natural hair, with soft body from root to end. Natural Color/1B.

Ideal for clients who regularly wear blowouts.

100% human hair. It can be flat ironed for a smoother appearance and offers excellent styling versatility.

Woman wearing Yaki Straight K-Tips05

Yaki Straight

Yaki Straight K-Tips

Sits between Kinky Straight and Straight, with a slight natural texture and soft body. Natural Color/1B.

Excellent for relaxed hair that is not completely bone straight, or a silk press with a little body.

100% human hair. Choose this when Straight feels too smooth but Kinky Straight has more texture than your usual finish.

What you will notice

More hair—without the heavy feeling.

01

A closer texture match

Your extensions should blend into your hair, not make your natural texture look like the problem.

02

Fullness that still feels like you

Add the density you want while keeping a soft, believable shape from the crown through the ends.

03

Soft, lightweight movement

Hair that falls, bounces, and moves naturally—without a stiff finish or unnecessary bulk at the top.

Your match starts here

Start with the hair you actually have.

Look at your clean, air-dried curl pattern and density first, then consider how you normally style it. Choose the closest texture match before deciding on length and fullness.
